The 2014 All-State Honor Choirs will rehearse and perform in conjunction with the Louisiana ACDA Fall Vocal Conference. The conference will take place on October 23-25 in New Orleans. Singers in grades 4-12 are invited to audition for one of our prestigious choirs: Children’s, Youth, Men’s or Women’s. Each audition must be prepared and submitted by a sponsoring teacher/director who is a current member of ACDA. Directors, please read the following information carefully so as to avoid missed deadlines or disqualified auditions. These dates and guidelines will be strictly enforced!

Children’s All-State Choir:

The Children’s All-State Choir represents the most gifted fourth, fifth and sixth graders in Louisiana. The students are selected for this choir through an online audition process in the fall. The All State Choir rehearses and performs during the annual Fall Vocal Conference, hosted by Louisiana ACDA in October.

Youth All-State Choirs:

The  Youth All-State Choirs (Treble/Mixed) are comprised of approximately 200 singers in the ( 6th grade boys with changed voices), and male/ female voices in the seventh, eighth and ninth grades. The choirs are selected through a very competitive online audition process in the fall. After the audition, students will be assigned to one of these two choirs. The Youth All State Choirs rehearse and perform during the annual Fall Vocal Conference, hosted by Louisiana ACDA in October.

Women’s All-State Choir:

The Women’s All-State Choir is an SSAA group of up to 120 students. Tenth, eleventh and twelfth grade female students enrolled in a high school choral program in Louisiana are eligible to submit an online audition in the fall for this highly selective ensemble. The Women’s All-State Choir rehearses and performs during the annual Fall Vocal Conference, hosted by Louisiana ACDA in October.

Men’s All-State Choir:

The Men’s All-State Choir is comprised of tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade male students enrolled in a high school choral program in Louisiana. They will follow an online audition procedure for this highly selective ensemble.

Intercollegiate Honor Choir:

The Intercollegiate Honor Choir is an SSAATTBB group of college singers. Students enrolled in a La. College Choral Program are eligible to submit audition recordings in early September for this outstanding choral group. The College Honor Choir will present a performance on Friday afternoon.

Dear directors and parents,

Nouveau Photeau will once again be photographing all groups at the upcoming LA-ACDA All-State. In an effort to make the process as easy as possible, we are sending out this information in advance. Click here for the order form for Group Pictures.

Directors – Please, please, please send these home with your participating students. You cannot believe how much difference it makes. Also, let the parents know if you will accept orders and bring them as a group to the festival or not. We will be there to take orders.
Parents – You may bring order forms to the festival, send them to your school IF THE DIRECTOR IS WILLING TO ACCEPT THEM, or mail them to us in advance. You can mail them to: P.O. Box 91186, Lafayette, LA 70509.
